Would leaving the European Union leave Britain isolated?

To all those who would say - yes I suppose it's better that we stay in; the questions that should be posed to them is - how is it that Norway and Switzerland are doing so well outside of the EU? Why is it that in per capita terms, Switzerland exports more to the EU than Britain does? How comes it that the two most prosperous economies in Europe are Norway and Switzerland? Why is it that the Swedish people now regret having joined the EU?

Withdrawal from the EU will not leave Britain isolated. Are Norway and Switzerland isolated? They have the highest living standards and the most sound economies in Europe. In per capita terms, Switzerland exports more to the EU than Britain does - proof positive that one does not need to belong to the EU to trade with it.Yes, the EU could slap taxes on our exports if we withdrew, but then we can do the same. The EU exports more to Britain than Britain does to the EU, so if the EU were to do such a childish thing as stop trading with us or impose taxes on our exports, they would hurt themselves more than they would hurt Britain. It is the EU which is isolated from the world - so withdrawal from it can hardly cause isolation - that is not logical.
