City's baby Lambanana smashed up by vandals April 5th 2004.

Story from the Liverpool Echo online.

Vandals have demolished SuperLambanana's baby. A Crosby sculptor known only as Billy put his miniature version next to the original on April Fool's Day. But 48 hours after the three-foot high sculpture had left passers-by baffled, it was destroyed in a late-night attack.

Billy said: "I made the baby one out of plaster, bin bags, fibre-glass and tape. I thought the original looked lonely and needed a friend. But it was smashed up on Friday night and now the Super-Lambanana is all alone again. I can't believe that someone would do this - but at least it gave people a few laughs while it was there."
